Delete your account & data

You can permanently delete your RollEvent account and the data associated with it at any time. There are two ways to do it.
1. From inside the app (fastest — recommended)
If you still have the app installed and can sign in:
- Open the app and sign in with the email you use for RollEvent.
- Tap your profile / open the menu and go to Account.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
Deletion happens immediately. You’ll be signed out and your data is removed as described below. No confirmation email is needed.
2. By email (if you can’t use the app)
If you no longer have the app installed, can’t sign in, or would simply prefer to request deletion in writing, send an email to:
Use the subject line “RollEvent account deletion request” and include the email address associated with your account in the message body so we can locate it. We may reply from the same address to verify ownership before proceeding.
We process verified deletion requests within 30 days, in line with applicable privacy laws (including GDPR Art. 17, “right to erasure”). In practice it’s usually within a few business days.
3. What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, the following are permanently removed:
- Your account record (email, display name, profile data).
- All photos you have taken across every roll — including in rolls hosted by other people. Other members of those rolls will no longer see your contributed photos.
- Any rolls (events) you host. Deleting a roll you host deletes it for every member of that roll, including the photos they contributed. This is unavoidable because the host owns the roll.
- Your push notification tokens and any cached metadata tied to your account.
4. What we keep (and for how long)
To meet legal, accounting, and fraud-prevention obligations, we may retain a minimal amount of data after deletion:
- Purchase records (transaction id, date, amount, tier) for the period required by tax and consumer-protection law — typically 5 years. These records are kept separate from your personal profile and don’t identify you in a usable way once your account is removed.
- Operational backups may include older copies of the data for up to 30 days after deletion, after which they are rolled over and your data is gone.
If you have specific questions about what is retained in your case, mention it in your deletion email and we’ll confirm.
5. Purchases & refunds
Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their respective policies, not by us. Account deletion does not automatically trigger a refund. If you want a refund, request it directly from the relevant store before or after deletion.
